Somewhere in America, an army of pre-teen competitive dancers plots to take over the world. And if their new routine is good enough, they’ll claw their way to the top at Nationals in Tampa Bay. An unorthodox play about ambition, growing up, and how to find our souls in the heat of it all.

Set in the 1950’s, Jim Stark is a lonely and conflicted teenager from a “good family.” He finds himself the new kid in yet another town with a family running from his reckless delinquencies. While Jim tries to make sense of his surroundings the best way he knows how, he seems to find nothing but trouble, more confusion and a mixed bag of friends and enemies. In a whirlwind period of 24 hours, Jim discovers true love, family and great tragedy.

Up In One Productions proudly presents Sister Act, the sparkling Broadway musical comedy
based on the acclaimed 1992 film starring Whoopi Goldberg. It features original music by
Tony, and 8-time Oscar winner, Alan Menken (Newsies, Beauty and the Beast, Little Shop of
Horrors), with a nod to the 70’s sound of Motown, soul, and disco. Sister Act was nominated for
five Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

When disco diva, Deloris Van Cartier, witnesses a murder, she is put in protective custody in
the one place the police are certain she won't be found: a convent! Disguised as a nun, she
finds herself at odds with both the rigid lifestyle and the uptight Mother Superior. Using her
unique disco moves and singing talent to inspire the choir, Deloris helps her fellow sisters
find their voices as she unexpectedly rediscovers her own.
