Educational Job Opportunities
The CENTER for Performing Arts at Rhinebeck has a thriving Education program, and we are looking for new talent!
Our goal is to provide a welcoming and inclusive space to young people while also providing respectful, top-notch education in theatre performance.
Our workshops take place throughout the year. We have three main categories of workshops: Kids on Stage, Teens on Stage, and Magic of Disney.
Our Magic of Disney (MOD) program is usually for ages 5-8 and is a song and dance review. Participants learn songs and choreography and share what they've learned at a short performance at the end of our time together. MOD is usually a weeklong program.
Our Kids on Stage (KOS) program is for ages 5-17 and introduces and reinforces stagecraft and acting skills. Participants register, learn about the play, and audition. All participants are guaranteed a role, and our directors make sure that everyone has a chance to shine! We do junior or kids versions of plays and musicals, and participants often learn choreography and/or stage combat skills. KOS is usually a 10 week program that meets twice a week after school. They may perform on the last day of the workshop for family and friends or for the larger community on the weekends.
Our Teens on Stage (TOS) program builds on the skills introduced in KOS and expands them to support maturing artists who may wish to pursue a career in acting. TOS is for ages 13-18, and those interested must audition and be cast to register. Rehearsals are on weekends and after school on weekdays, and participants are expected to be responsible with their schedules and prepared for all rehearsals. TOS usually produces full-length musicals with more mature themes. TOS performs on the weekends, following The CENTER's Mainstage show schedule. TOS is usually a 12 week program.
We hire teams for each workshop. These teams organize into positions such as director, stage manager, assistant, choreographer, music director, etc., but staff members are all responsible for the well-being and safety of the participants at all times during workshops. They also help make and collect props, costumes, and sets, and play theatre games with the participants. Besides having creative skills, staff members must be kind, responsible, communicate clearly, and have reliable transportation. We offer a stipend for each workshop.
We are especially interested in hiring licensed teachers and students working toward an education career.
If you are interested in working for our summer camp, please check again in 2025 for any open opportunities.
