For the first time in forever, experience the musical phenomenon that has taken the world by storm! Based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature film, Disney’s Frozen includes all the film’s beloved songs by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, along with new music written exclusively for the stage.

In the beautiful mountainous kingdom of Arendelle, Princesses Anna and Elsa grow up sheltered inside their castle, isolated from the world and increasingly distant from each other. When Elsa is crowned queen, the magical powers she’s desperately tried to conceal from her sister take control, and she flees into the mountains. As a ferocious winter descends on Arendelle, Anna sets off on an epic journey to find Elsa and bring her home – with the help of hardworking ice harvester Kristoff, his loyal reindeer Sven, and a happy-go-lucky snowman named Olaf.

Full of magic, humor, and a stunning musical score, Frozen is a powerful tale of sisterhood, acceptance, and finding the real meaning of true love.

About Our Sensory Friendly Performance

What is a Sensory Friendly Performance?

Sensory friendly performances are designed to create a supportive and welcoming theater environment for individuals on the autism spectrum, with sensory sensitivities, or anyone who may benefit from a more relaxed environment.

  • Audience expression is welcomed, A judgement-free zone: Movement, vocal reactions, and stepping out during the show are completely acceptable.

  • House lights remain at a low level throughout the performance rather than going completely dark.

  • Patrons are notified in advance of when sudden loud noises or harsh lighting effects occur, and they potentially may be adjusted to ensure a comfortable experience for all guests.

For full details on The CENTER’s accessibility, and for step-by-step social narrative, and sensory resources, please visit our  Sensory & Neurodivergent Support Page.

What to Expect from the Sensory Friendly Performance of Frozen on January 2nd

We are preparing several show-specific resources and accommodations to help you and your family plan your visit:

  • Sensory Supports at Box Office: Fidget toys and sensory items will be available to borrow free of charge at the box office.

  • In-House Safe Space Seats: Dedicated seats will be held reserved in the house to serve as a quick-access space if anyone needs extra room or a social distance break during the performance.

  • Adjusted Cues: We may be able to make specific adjustments to lighting and sound cues (such as softening sudden flash effects or loud sound transitions). Final technical adjustments will be confirmed during tech week prior to opening.

  • Sensory Advisory Guide: We are creating a downloadable information packet that will include a full story summary, character introductions, and a breakdown of potential sensory triggers throughout the performance..
