The Prom

The Prom Audition Information

When the PTA from Edgewater, Indiana cancels the senior prom in order to block a lesbian student from bringing her date, four New York stars in search of a cause swoop in to save the day. A new musical comedy “so filled with happiness that you think your heart is about to burst” (Variety).

Rhinebeck Theatre Society is proud to announce auditions for The Prom, an inclusive, boundary-challenging, thought-provoking, incredibly timely, contemporary musical comedy. We are seeking a diverse, open-minded, and honest cast of performers to fill a range of roles. Members of the LGBTQ+ community are strongly encouraged to audition.

Audition Dates: Saturday, April 15th at 1:00 pm & Sundays, April 16th at 7:00 pm at The CENTER for Performing Arts at Rhinebeck (661 Route 308, Rhinebeck, NY 12572).

Virtual Auditions Submissions: Email a YouTube link or Google Drive link of your singing audition to rhinebecktheatresociety@gmail.com by Sunday, April 16th at 7:00 pm.

Please prepare a brief cut of a song to share. Please sing whatever song shows you off best!

Bring sheet music or a backing track, whichever is easier for you. If possible, download or save the backing track locally to not rely on Wifi. If nerves have you tied in a knot, consider a duet with a friend.

We also will be doing some choreography at the auditions, so wear something comfortable.

Bring a resume detailing your theatre experience or be prepared to list your performance experience.

Bring your schedule and be prepared to list conflicts through July 23rd.
