Oedipus Rx is a new teleplay written, produced, and directed by Lou Trapani.
Set today in the press briefing room of the Capitol building in Thebes, a chorus of journalists bemoans the pandemic that has gripped their city, killing hundreds of thousands, when Oedipus, his wife and daughter, his second-in-command, his attorney general, and the head of the pandemic task force appear to answer their questions.
Modeled on familiar faces from our own nation’s recent past, Oedipus Rx combines the horror of Sophocles’ tragedy with the real terror of an out-of-control modern-day virus.
Starring Josh Patriarco as Oedipus and Deborah Coconis as Jocasta, Oedipus Rx will stream from April 30th as a real-time, two-camera television event with no intermission.
Oedipus Rx will be performed at The CENTER and will be available on-demand so that you can stream to the comfort of your home. Whatever performance you purchase will be available anytime that ENTIRE weekend (6pm Friday evening through midnight of Sunday) for your pleasure to watch!
In order to purchase tickets, you must place order before 5pm on show days. That day's on-demand link will be sent no later than 5:30pm. You can then watch the performance anytime that weekend!
You will receive a separate e-mail from our partner Showtix4U, where your private link to the performance will be embedded so that you can enjoy the show from the comfort of your home!
