The CENTER For Performing Arts at Rhinebeck has been selected by Disney Theatrical Group and Music Theater, International to pilot a production of Newsies, Jr. in 2018!
This workshop experience will incorporate specialized instruction in stagecraft and voice,  and culminate in a fully realized production. Participation includes an instructional fee (to be determined) and is by audition only.
Newsies Jr. is based on the 1992 motion picture and the hit Broadway musical and features a score by eight-time Academy Award® winner Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin,) and Jack Feldman and a book by four-time Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein. Set in New York City at the turn of the century, Newsies JR. is the story of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a ragged band of newsies, who dreams of a better life far from the hardship of the streets.
Directed and choreographed by Kevin Archambault with music direction by Cheryl B. Engelhardt.
